Introduction

Assalamualaikum and good day to all the reader. How are you? I hope you guys feeling well. Ok for this topic I like to explain a little bit about writing the introduction. To me writing the introduction is the hardest part of writing an essay because we need to have a good introduction so that we can attract the attention of reader. Miss Zu teaches us the techniques and functions in writing the introduction. Here the explanation about the functions and techniques writing the introduction.

1.      The functions of the introduction are:

Ø  It attract the reader’s interest to continue reading the essay and getting the reader’s attention.

Ø  It supplies background information needed to understand the essay.

Ø  Set tone for the rest of the essay.

2.      The technique in writing introduction:

Ø  Begins with a broad, general statement of your topic and narrow down to your thesis statement or funnel.

Ø  Using fact or statistic.

Ø  Start with an idea or situation that is the opposite of the one you want to expand.

Ø  Explain the importance of your topic to the reader

Ø  Use an incident or brief story or personal example

Ø  Use a quotation

Ø  Using a definition
